HOW MUCH HAS CHANGED?

The highwater mark of the "Stone Mountain" edition of the Ku Klux Klan. It was the year that anti-Catholicism robbed the Democrats of, in my opinion, the best candidate they ever had, Alfred Emmanuel Smith of New York. Davis was the political equivalent of Rick Santorum or George McGovern and didn't have a chance. The Klan was rampant all over the country, being strongest in the Northeast. By 1928, the Klan had peaked, Smith got nominated, but unfortunately Hoover got elected and we saw what no regulation and every man for himself got us...didn't we?
