FOSTER STREET STATION, WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS

The Norwich & Worcester Railroad was opened in 1840 and this station was their terminus in the city. In addition it was the terminus of the Boston & Worcester and the Worcester, Nashua and Portland. The Great Western Railroad built a station off Shrewsbury St. subsequently, and that station was replaced by Union Depot in 1876 and current Union Station in 1911.
