In the delightful new film
Pop Aye, a man and his elephant best friend
embark on a road trip across the idyllic Thai countryside, meeting a colorful
cast of characters along the way that includes a pair of nonplussed local
police officers, a forlorn transgender sex worker, and a mysteriously wise
drifter. From all this, writer/director Kirsten Tan weaves a strikingly
universal tale for her feature debut that won prizes (and hearts) at the
Sundance and Rotterdam Film Festivals.

"An engaging and charming road trip."
